Really now, who will be able to resist a spirited pony named Tugboat, who has a personality like Wilbur the pig, and can tell a story like Black Beauty?
Nanci Turner Steveson has been a Horse-Girl her whole life. Her formal training began at Ox Ridge Hunt Club in CT , where she rode for 7yrs. After moving to TX, Nanci changed tack and competed in Western Pleasure and Barrel Racing, including competing in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Later she managed an Arabian breeding farm, and today owns a granddaughter of that program, Dallas.
Nanci has taught riding for over 30 years. She managed one of the largest riding programs on the east coast, organized local and "A" rated shows, hosted dressage competitions, formed a young rider’s event team, initiated a series of horsemanship lectures, and held fund raisers for a local equine rescue operation. The most important thing she did during her years managing horse farms, however, was having a positive impact on the lives of other horse-girls like herself.
Nanci works full time in PR, writes articles for The Equiery Magazine (www.equiery.com), has published short stories, and is completing her first pony novel, The Tugboat Chronicles. She shows golden retrievers and spends as much time as possible enjoying the natural beauty of Jackson Hole, WY.
